About

From September 2019 to November 2019 I worked on Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) at Pinaka Interactive as a Game Design Consultant. RPS is a puzzle game that revolves around the mechanics from the classic game of Rock Paper Scissors. The goal of the player is to help the main character: Glubglub reach the exit. Multiple obstacles including Rocks, Papers and Scissors will stand in the players way.

I worked with the team in designing the core and side mechanics and any further improvement they needed. I was also tasked with level design along with two other designers. Along with this , I also did all the art work for the prototype, this place holder art helped in giving the lead artist and idea as to what aesthetic the design team was going for.

I also researched multiple puzzle games to understand what can be done to make RPS feel more robust and engaging. Multiple iterations and play-testing helped us get the game to a place that validated the concept.

RPS was the first Puzzle game in my professional career and it has helped me understand the genre better. The game also helped me understand how to make a grid based level for a puzzle game and how not to make a level frustratingly difficult while making it challenging for the players.
