About
At the beginning of September 2019 I joined Pinaka Interactive as a Game Design Consultant. The core focus of the company at the time was Casual and Hypercasual games. Lines was one of the first projects that I started working on. Lines is an Endless Hypercasual that can be explained as a High-Octane Frogger with a Punchy-Neon visual aesthetic with a lot of importance on Sound Design and Game Feel.
I worked on documenting and designing the levels with my lead designer, Poornima Seetharaman. This including giving the programmers clear and clean parameters to be followed to scale the difficulty in a intuitive and engaging manner. Another obstacle that had to be cleared for the game was the Game Feel. I got to understand and learn more about Game Feel and its importance, especially when dealing with Hypercasual games. I was also in charge of wireframing the UI.
Lines was only my second Hypercasual game in my professional career and it taught me more about fast production cycles. As the trends change rapidly in the Hypercasual space, we had to design and develop the game in a relatively short time, which was a challenging and informative journey.
