From July 2019 to September 2019, I worked on Trials of Onumbra at NammaLore Entertainment Pvt Ltd. This was the most ambitious project the company had worked on, which in turn made it the most ambitious project I had worked on. Trials of Onumbra was an Adventure-Platformer with equal focus Combat and Environment-based Puzzles. 

I worked on Core and Side Mechanics for Trials of Onumbra with my lead designer Poornima Seetharaman. To nail the design, I had to research successful games of the same genre, such as, Celeste, Dead Cells, etc.  which helped in understanding what works and what doesn't.  Since the movement of the character would be of great importance when it comes to Game Feel and how the game plays as a whole, numerous iterations had to be made. I worked closely with the lead programmer in balancing the various values that determined how the main character worked. 

The narrative was also an obstacle that had to be overcome. I worked with the Narrative Designer on getting the story as interesting and appealing to a wide range of players. I also helped the lead artist with visualising the kind of look the design team had come up with it. 

Trials of Onumbra was an amazing project to work on that has definitely helped me grow as a Game Designer. The project also helped me understand how a long and elaborate production cycle functions. But, due to some management issues, the company had to shut down and with it, the project.
